Why people look for an Acuity alternative
Acuity has no free tier at all, and its lowest plan still shows Acuity’s own branding on the pages your customers see — “Powered by Acuity Scheduling” persists until the Premium plan at $49 a month, roughly three times the $16-a-month Starter entry price (both as of September 2026, billed annually). So the two things a small business usually wants first, a way to try it before committing and a booking page that looks like theirs, sit at opposite ends of the ladder. Sorraia’s Free plan is a real plan you can run a live site on, with no time limit and no card, and the calendar you embed carries no Sorraia badge on any plan. There is no free tier to start on
Acuity’s entry plan is Starter at $16 a month billed annually (as of September 2026), and there is no free plan underneath it, so evaluating it on a real site means subscribing first. Sorraia’s Free plan is a working plan — one verified website, one form or calendar on it, real bookings, no card — which is enough to put a booking calendar on a live page and see whether it earns its place.

Your availability lives in a widget on your site, not on a scheduling page
A Sorraia calendar is styled to match: its colours start from the site’s brand kit when you create it, and the visitor books without leaving the site or landing on a scheduler wearing someone else’s name. Availability is a list of up to four working windows per day, so a real lunch break is one calendar rather than a compromise, and every slot is shown in the visitor’s own detected timezone, with the zone named and changeable.

There is an Acuity importer
Sorraia’s calendar importer has an Acuity adapter alongside Calendly, Cal.com, SavvyCal, Square, Microsoft Bookings and a CSV fallback. It reads your appointment types and previews them as Sorraia calendars before creating anything, and an undo removes exactly what the import created. Moving is not a retyping exercise.

When Acuity is the better choice
When scheduling is your business rather than a button on your website. Acuity is an appointment-business product, not a booking link: packages and gift certificates, memberships and subscriptions, class and group scheduling with capacity limits, intake forms attached to appointment types, multiple locations and calendars, payment or a deposit taken at the moment of booking. A salon, a clinic, a studio or a coach running a real appointment book will use several of those in the first week. Sorraia covers only part of that: a calendar can take group bookings with a set number of seats per slot and ask its own booking questions, but there are no packages, gift certificates or memberships, and no payment taken at the moment of booking. If your list of requirements includes the word “packages”, stop reading this page.
Questions
Can I move my Acuity appointment types over?
Yes — there is an Acuity adapter in the calendar importer. It reads your appointment types and shows you a preview of what it will create before anything is written, and if the result is wrong an undo deletes exactly what the import made. Sorraia has no packages, memberships or gift certificates, so if your bookings rely on any of those, the import is not the hard part of the move.
Can I take payment when someone books?
Not on the booking itself. Sorraia’s calendar takes the booking, and its confirmation carries a manage link for rescheduling or cancelling; taking money is a separate widget — a Stripe-backed product or deposit you embed on the same page. If payment at the moment of booking is a requirement rather than a nice-to-have, Sorraia’s calendar does not meet it.
Can I offer two blocks of hours in one day?
Yes. A working day holds up to four time windows, so a morning block and an afternoon block is the normal setup, and the gap between them offers no slots. The same windows apply to every working day you tick; different hours on different weekdays are not supported.
Is there a free plan I can put a live calendar on?
Yes. Free covers one verified website with one booking calendar or form on it, with no time limit and no card, and bookings are not capped. Starter, at $19 a month, allows fifteen forms and calendars on the site.
